No More Room in Hell 2 September 2026 Update
Live now: controller polish, new map variants, weapon attachments, and what to recheck after installing.
The September 2026 update is the first content delivery Torn Banner named after Armageddon 1.0. It is now live as of early September 2026. If you updated after August, you already have it — this page is your checklist for what changed and what to re-test before your next high-stakes queue.
Source of truth is the official September patch notes on nmrih2.com/news/ and Steam client news. The August 20 developer blog Beyond Armageddon covers the roadmap context. This page is the SEO-facing September changelog: controller deadzones, Lewiston permutations, Pottsville scenario, and new weapon attachments.
What September delivers
Controller deadzones and menu navigation
September’s quality-of-life block is aimed at pad players: deadzone improvements and UI menu navigation that does not fight the cursor. The sensitivity ceiling moved from 2 to 6 in 1.0.4.0 — if you have not recalibrated since August 25, do it now. Deadzone changes stack on top of that ceiling change. Open Controller Settings and Controls after installing September, confirm stick response feels consistent, then queue.
Lewiston: new objective permutations
Lewiston now has additional objective permutations — the Critical POI order and task set vary more between runs. This is variety inside a map you already know, not a new location. If you have a memorized generator order, expect it to flip. Teach squad roles (carrier, door, horde) rather than a single GPS line so permutations do not break your callouts mid-match.
Drill the updated layout on Lewiston Walkthrough and Maps & Objectives.
Pottsville: new scenario flow
Pottsville now has a brand-new scenario — a new objective flow that restructures the map. Official language calls it an objective flow that “turns the map on its head.” Treat it as a second Pottsville contract. Pair with Pottsville Walkthrough and expect callout changes if your squad has a fixed route.
New weapon attachments
September adds muzzle modifications and laser sights as meaningful gameplay changes, not cosmetic locker chrome. These will shift Weapon Attachments, Weapons Database, and the Weapons Tier List once attachment stats are public. The 1.0.4.0 spread rebalance already changed Gruber 922/MKVII/Ranch, Hunter85, M7, M14, M1911, M9A1, MC15, Model 13, MP5, and Rochester 1873 — September attachments build on top of that baseline.
What September is not
- Not Hell Mode. Hell Mode is a 2026 stretch target, not a September deliverable.
- Not Responder Retirement or Memorial. Those are later Autumn systems.
- Not a new Survival map. Flooded, Lighthouse, and Night of the Living Dead remain the arena set.
- Not subtitles. Subtitles are under investigation with no confirmed date.
- Not dedicated servers or a public Trello.
Post-September checklist
- Recalibrate controller sensitivity — deadzone changes + new ceiling may feel different.
- Re-learn Lewiston callouts — permutations change Critical order.
- Re-read Pottsville on your next visit — new scenario flow affects routing.
- Check Weapons Tier List after attachment stats are public.
- Watch official patch notes for any follow-up hotfixes.
October preview
October is described as extra in-run items and choices without drowning new players. Specific item names have not been revealed. Do not merge rumored items into your build planning until official October notes ship. See October Update for the confirmed planning window.
