No More Room in Hell 2 Power Plant Finale Walkthrough
Codes, roles, and horde control for the classic Scenario extract.
The Power Plant is the classic No More Room in Hell 2 Scenario finale: a multi-stage objective nest that ends with a collapsing industrial site and a helicopter extract. This walkthrough assumes you already understand POI flow from Maps and Objectives and that your squad can stay alive long enough to reach the plant with real gear—not starter pipes and hope.
Before you commit to the plant
Do not sprint from spawn to the central plant. Clear nearby named locations first. Optional and Critical POIs fund the finale with firearms, meds, codes, and regroup opportunities. Completing at least the required Critical path unlocks plant access depending on the active start scenario—laptop security, radio hunts, or side-entrance keys all rotate, so read the compass and do not assume last week’s route.
Form a squad early. Eight-player online co-op with cross-play is the intended pressure cooker; solo heroics inside the plant usually end in permadeath. If you need communication basics, skim Co-op Teamwork before finale night.
Team roles for the finale
Treat the Power Plant like a raid with loud consequences:
- Code / objective operators stand on panels, generators, wiring, or repair pieces and call status every ten seconds.
- Horde control owns doors, stairs, and catwalks with melee first, firearms for runners and screamers only.
- Breacher carries explosives and shotguns for sealed routes and sudden pressure spikes.
- Medic / mule holds Phalanx Pills, kits, and spare ammo in the rear pocket of the formation.
- Extract caller watches the objective complete state and calls the move to the heli pad as one unit.
Split into more than two roaming groups only if you have radios and discipline. Most wipes happen when half the squad is still looting a side room while the other half starts a noisy objective phase.
Codes, panels, and scenario variants
Power Plant start and end scenarios rotate. You may need laptop access to open the main gate, radios that point to a key body for side entrances, or mid-finale repairs that replace older generator chains. Codes and sequences can lengthen on Hard and Nightmare—assign one calm Responder to read documents out loud while another types. Everyone else faces outward.
Never leave the code operator alone. The minigames are designed to steal attention while the horde fills the room behind you. If infection hits an operator mid-panel, swap them immediately: Phalanx Pills buy roughly five minutes; Gene Therapy is the permanent save if you have it.
Horde control inside the plant
Noise escalates the sector. Each completed phase tends to increase density. Hold chokepoints instead of open turbine floors. Two-handed blunt weapons create stagger space; blades finish downed limbs. Save rifle rounds for armored infected and distant runners on catwalks.
Barricade intelligently. Blocking every door can trap your own escape path to extract. Leave one known retreat lane to the helicopter approach and call it before the final objective completes. If a shambler starts screaming, kill or displace it before the third scream stacks the room.
Stamina is a defensive resource. Exhausted Responders fail grabs and eat infection. Rotate frontliners; do not let one Athlete try to tank the entire plant.
Helicopter extract
When the plant objective finishes—destruction, repair chain, or scenario equivalent—the extract phase begins. Move together toward the marked heli zone. The pad is not a safe lobby; it is a final funnel. Expect a last surge as the craft descends and doors open.
Board as a group. Stragglers who stay for one more crate often miss the window and die on a character that already earned the hard part. Successful boarding keeps the Responder and converts the deployment’s earned progress; dying on the pad wastes the whole night.
If the squad has already collapsed to three or fewer living Responders before the plant is viable, consider early extract options covered in How to Extract instead of forcing a doomed finale. Saving three characters beats losing eight egos.
Common Power Plant mistakes
- Starting the final phase with empty med kits and no pills.
- Ignoring infection coughs until veins hit terminal stage.
- Splitting for “quick loot” after the objective is already armed.
- Dumping all ammo in the first hallway panic.
- Calling extract while half the team is still downstairs.
Clear Critical POIs, assign roles, control noise, finish the plant sequence, and leave on the bird. That is the Power Plant loop in No More Room in Hell 2—simple on paper, lethal when anyone improvises alone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Responders preparing for the next deployment.
Do I need to finish every Critical POI before the Power Plant?
Usually you must complete the required Critical path for the active start scenario—often one of two selected Criticals, or a radio/key chain. Optional POIs are for gear and regrouping, not endless tourism.
What should each player do during code or generator phases?
One or two operators handle the interaction. Everyone else holds doors and stairs, calling runner contacts. Never leave the operator unsupervised.
When should we abort and early extract instead?
If living Responders drop to three or fewer and the plant is still unfinished, early extract can save characters. See the extract guide for hatch/green marker rules and XP tradeoffs.
Is the helicopter safe once it lands?
No. The landing zone remains contested until you board. Move as one group and ignore late loot greed.
